Few would have predicted the participants November’s first weekend showdown game in the ACC would be BC and Wake Forrest! Both are 7-1 overall and 3-1 in the Atlantic Division. BC has already beaten Clemson (Wake lost to Clemson) and has earned the easier schedule the rest of the way. Both teams have an excellent defensesive line-up, with BC allowing 14.9 PPG (just 39 total points allowed in its last five games!) and Wake allowing 15.0 PPG. Wake has a better ruuning game but they lost LY’s leading returning rusher Micah Andrews after the third game and now TY’s leading rusher (Harris) is scheduled to miss this one. Ryan (59.8% / 237.3 YPG) is expected to be back at QB, giving BC a solid advantage in that aspect. Wake lost its starting QB (Ben Mauck) in its season opener but Riley Skinner has done a solid job filling in. He has completed 69.2% of his passes while not throwing for many yards, he’s been intercepted just once in 117 attempts. That’s a key for Wake, as they have just 11 give-aways in 8 games. BC is the better team but not by far and while BC is already 0-2 ATS this year as a road favorite, Wake is a perfect 4-0 this year as the underdog. HC Jim Grobe has not had much success vs ranked opponents (just 1-13 SU) but I say TAKE THE POINTS!!
